Cornwall is known for a lot of things, pasties, seagulls and maybe even a bit of surfing but it certainly isn’t on the map for producing top drawer thrash punk bands… That is until now! Rash Decision got together four years ago and began to formulate their plan for world domination. This plan combined the use of face-ripping thrash riffs, toxic punk vocals and body shaking beats, and then unleashing it to the masses. Having already conquered the local scene they are about to spew their noxious melodies on the rest of us.
Taking influence from bands such as Asshole Parade, Extreme Noise Terror, Zeke and Municipal Waste, they have already shared the stage with bands Skindred, Discharge and UK Subs. More recently playing the Relentless Boardmasters Festival alongside Gallows, Trash Talk and Rolo Tomassi.
2010 sees Rash Decision release their eight-track record “Temporary Worker (Clause 4.1)”, through Pumpkin Records. The eight tracks have an utterly punk running time of less than 14 minutes and no punk record is complete without the obligatory 24 second track!
So what does it sound like? Well, we’ve all seen Pulp Fiction, right? In particular, the scene where Uma Thurman’s character has had a little too much powder and John Travolta has to inject adrenaline into her heart. Well, the first time I gave the Rash Decision album a spin it gave me a similar reaction as if I had been injected with a shot of adrenaline… this shit is intense!
Thirteen and a half minutes of extreme Thrash Punk inspired mayhem, twin edged guitar attacks with a hefty side order of bass, drums that will knock your teeth out and vocals that could melt granite. Highlights include the hardcore thrash punk ‘Veins’, the Napalm Death-esque, 24 second long ‘Learning Things’ and the thrash punk monster ‘Giving & Taking’.
