Today VICE and Marshall Headphones premières episode three of On the Road – the epic documentary series that celebrates the shadow warriors of rock – the roadies.
Episode three sees Jesse go to West Hollywood and takes viewers on a tour of the legendary Sunset Strip. He talks about his hell raising days in the clubs, including a time when he threw up all over John Cusack. After the tour, Jesse heads to the world famous House of Blues to meet Nick Rucker, the one man army for kings of the sunset strip, Steel Panther. Nick Rucker does it all from being Steel Panther’s tour manager, soundman, and flight booker. Jesse chats to Nick about looking after the band on his own, as well as speaking to Steel Panther about the man who makes it all happen.
“It comes back to the roadie versus the shadow warrior type thing. The roadies are the guys who really are bitter because they wanted to be on stage performing, and the Shadow Warrior is totally stoked to be behind the scenes making it happen and making the show kick ass.” – Nick Rucker
